CERTIFICATION AND COURSES

The Canadian Rafting Federation is currently working closely with outfitters across Canada to develop standards for Guide Training and Certification. There are a number of certifications available across Canada and Internationally and the CRF is working towards a comprehensive certification process that sets a standard for Canadian Raft Guides and River Professionals that is recognized globally as an industry leader

The type of awards that will be issued is to be determined by the skills and knowledge that is shown by the candidate, and the difficulty of the river where the assessment is given.  In addition, each level of award will requires that specific requirements have been met prior to the assessment.  These requirements will be detailed in the forthcoming GUIDE TRAINING & EDUCATION AWARD SYSTEM document.

Canadian Rafting Federation Certificates will be valid for a period of three years from the assessment date.  To remain valid, individuals must also maintain a current acceptable first aid card during these three years.
